Can't sign in?
Email support@y2kchats.com with the subject "Delete my Y2K Chat account", from the email address of the account (for Google sign-in, your Google email). Tell us your display name and, if you have it, your friend code. We may ask you to confirm the request, and we delete the account within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your profile: display name, buddy icon, friend code, personal and away messages, status.
- Your friendships, buddy requests, blocks and circle memberships (circles carry on without you).
- All messages and voice messages you sent, including the audio files.
- Your notification tokens and your sign-in.
What may be kept, and for how long
- Reports: if content was reported, the report's copy is kept until a moderator handles it, then deleted 30 days later. For child safety reports, 365 days after closing.
- Bans: if the account was banned, a one-way hash of the sign-in identity is kept to stop ban evasion, until the ban is lifted. It can't be turned back into your email.
- Copies in our providers' backups are overwritten within a short time.
Messages you received from others are theirs and are deleted on the usual 30-day schedule. More in our Privacy policy.
